Never one to let an opportunity pass her by, my aunt wasted no time getting mobilized when she heard that there were Las Palomas Condos for Sale. She’s been in love with Rocky Point for as long as anyone can remember, and she wasn’t about to let her chance to own her own piece of paradise slip by!

The first thing she did on her day off was drag me to a viewing. It wasn’t as if the entire region was being put up for sale, but you wouldn’t have been able to tell the difference from the way she was acting. My aunt, or Alice, as she prefers people to address her, never gets tired of telling people of the first time she ever visited Rocky Point. She says she’ll never forget the way the sea looked from where she stood on the beach.

Anyway, I couldn’t believe I was travelling so far for what was just a property-viewing! Still, I wasn’t doing anything at the moment, and Alice promised to pay for everything and do all the driving. All I had to do was keep her company, which was easy because she talks enough for two people, if you couldn’t already tell. The idea that a piece of puerto penasco for sale could take place was enough fuel for her conversation, which was admittedly one-sided. I didn’t mind, because talking isn’t really my thing anyway.

I asked her which aspect of the area she liked best, and incredibly, she couldn’t decide. For her part, she wondered aloud why my family never travelled there, despite its proximity to where we lived. All I can say is, my family isn’t the type to just pack a bag and traipse off to the nearest international border on a whim. I guess we’re the human equivalent of hobbits, preferring to stay where we are and only move when we absolutely need to.

My free-spirited aunt took some time to process it when I explained it to her before muttering something about “living only half a life”. In any case, we like the same music, so the trip was fun. We were supposed to meet a guy who specialized in Rocky Point Real Estate at the condos, and I guess we kept him waiting a little longer than we expected. He was really nice about it though.

The view was breathtaking from the condo that we viewed. For the first time in my life, I began to wonder what it would be to have the sound of waves lull you to sleep. I think Alice  noticed that I started looking longingly around the place too, which was furnished with every convenience required by modern life. Knowing my aunt, though, she would want to redo completely anything she bought to stamp her own individual style on it. She was non-committal at the condo, but my guess is she’ll get it, and I hope she’ll let me use the place too, from time to time!
