Arizona retirement living is made easy when you live at Colten Adult Care.  The staff and advisers that control the homes are very flexible when it comes to what you can bring.  Since the homes you are renting basically become your home, you are allowed to bring all kinds of furniture and other personal belongings to transform the house into your home.  This is great for those that have grown close to their furniture and other personal belongings.  Moving into an assisted living home can be a stressful ordeal for the elderly, but allowing them to bring their own furniture and belongings can ease the process.  In addition, residents are also allowed to bring their pets, granted they don’t pose a safety risk to other residents.

In addition to allowing residents to bring their furniture and pets, the facility also has many other features to make residents feel more comfortable.  As far as activities go, there is an activity director that works with each resident to ensure that their favorite activities will take place at least once per week.  On any given day, residents can expect to play cards, play board games, arts and crafts, take place in a quiet conversation, or simply get some exercise.  In addition, there are often volunteers who come in to spice up the lives of the residents.  After every dinner, there will be popcorn popped and a movie shown on the large screen television in the living room.  Meals are derived purely from resident input.  The menu is made up of taking the recommendations of the residents to ensure that each resident has something that they like on the menu.  Another great thing about the facility is that they accept the elderly with special needs such as Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, catheters, feeding tubes and those residents which require oxygen tanks.
